Seconds falling short of today...

by Ash   Aug 27, 2008

Seconds falling short of today,
Never thought I'd live to see the day.
When each heart would break without a tear,
For every breath I take is for you dear.

And I just can't help falling,
Everything just seems to be stalling.
And I just can't help thinking,
That everything I ever needed was always sinking.

I thought I'd tell you what I really knew,
Share everything that made my life true.
Show you the person behind this facade,
Pass away time beyond each renegade.

But I can't help wondering where tomorrow will lead,
For how many countless times shall each heart now bleed.
And I can't help feeling that something is so wrong,
There is this place in life wherein I don't belong.

Won't you hear my words this time,
Tell me forever that "You're mine."
I'm hoping for something that never shall relieve,
This pain and doubt that continues to retrieve.

Each wave of hope soon to crash,
You're tempted to burn and wither upon the ash.
Couldn't you once see that they always were right,
Behind their words was not darkness but light?

If only I could tell you these words that burn so deep,
Cutting beneath the depths and resurrecting eternal sleep.
That you're the only person for whom my heart desires,
And a day with you is a blessing one soon acquires.

For you're the beginning and the end in sight,
There remains no effort to force a fight.
You're the start of each morning and the sunlight so bright,
The only one as a small child may find within delight.

Life has shadowed and turned us all away,
Yet I still think and wonder about you everyday.
Though expression of feelings is not for me to make,
That life and words may come through an everlasting debate.

Yet what ever may happen today or any day soon,
The truth that echos is that you're the most blissful tune,
Serene and intense as a heart that does crave,
But tomorrow will bring us to time's new slave.

For love may be true one day too soon,
In the future it may wither and in agony be keep in a cocoon,
Then whispers will remind you so softly at first of what you once had felt,
Only to resurface those feeling that you had hidden away and left unkept.

Some words may fall short to convey what I feel,
And yet each time it seems for real.
If love is true then let it rise upon each ocean so fine,
And upon the temples of life may each repaint a new design.
