The Black Heart of The Crow Rolls Away

by Soulful Ensemble   Aug 27, 2008

Theres a dragon in my house
And hes related to me.
The blood coarsing through him
Is the same blood in me.

And his veins are red as mine
And blue like the moonshine.
But my heart is somewhere else
So I'll be feeling fine.

And this creature in my home
That has no name or phone.
Is someone I don't want
To leave my heart all blown.

And where is my Leilah?
The creatures biggest foe.
Who stares him into hell
With just one deep blow.

The screams and shrieks that flow,
In the starry night all snowed,
Begin to melt-- reveal the glow!
And the black heart of the crow.

Now this creature's scared
And there goes its flair.
Rolling down the sewer pipes
Falling through the air.

And spots of red and blue
Take the place in hues.
Where the creature left
A space that is all chewed.

I will fix the home
where dear Leilah roams.
Freely in my heart
With space of her own.

The smiles are coming back to stay,
Leilah's candle lights my day.
All of sadness' tests fade to gray
The black heart of the crow rolls away.
