And So the Rain

by Unrequited   Aug 28, 2008

And so the rain
falls and
peels its skin
from a towered
surface

revealing
clear love
and sky-driven
spots of an
ocean
leaving out

the natural
order of
black storms and
nightmares
deep in
your mind's eye
and the
sunrise

of lustful
presence.
we are mighty
in this love!
rain divides
and conquers
the sluggish
souls who were
born unworthy
of rain-washed
bliss.

for it is pure-
high and
arched
over clouds
that shade
and soak
our hearts,

beloved by
earth
in its glory.

and tomorrow
we shall dry
ourselves,
cradled
in thoughts
and hearty
smiles

brought on
by
the rain,
refreshing this
love
we share-

and we shall dream of sunrise...

A very different style, but nevertheless, a beautiful and descriptive nature poem. I especially liked this part:

    "and tomorrow
    we shall dry
    ourselves,
    cradled
    in thoughts
    and hearty
    smiles"

Good work! Keep writing, always and forever...
