A Black & White Photo

by The Angel of Secrets   Aug 28, 2008

I love black and white photos, so simple and so pure,
Makes the most childish face look so adult and mature.
A current place or time, frozen in a frame forever,
But did the prince and princess really walk away together?

Life isn't black and white, it has the colors of the rainbow,
It holds much more than humans will ever see, ever know.
Seeing life in black and white will eventually make you blind,
And make the things you seek be what you will never find.

I am so much more than a photo in black and white,
I am broken, I am weak, yet I am willing to fight.
Don't look at me as a picture with the focus on my body or face,
This girl with the fake elegance, delicacy and grace.

You have to face the red blood, face the killing pain,
Take a walk with me in the glassy, white rain.
Look into my eyes, face the hurt I bare,
Don't see me in black and white if you really care.

You have to see the colors, you have to see the world,
You have to look at the colors of this pathetic broken girl.
If you want to understand, take away the gray shades,
If you keep them there, the other stuff just fades.

My skin in bright pink, and my eyes are deep blue,
Maybe there is a chance, my colors are not like you.
But they belong to me, and I belong to them,
They are a part of me, and that you cannot condemn.

Maybe living in black and white is a cool way to live,
But it will never show you what I offer, what I give.
Look into my eyes, see what I write,
I am not a photo, created in black and white.
