How do you love me?
What is your reason behind it?
Your "I love you because..."?
If you had said "I do not know"
Then you would be just like the others.
But thank the heavens, you did not.
Why do I love you?
To simply say:
Because you make me laugh
like I have never laughed before.
To deeply say:
Because you make me feel
the way I've only dreamed of feeling.
How do I love you?
Completely. Straightforwardly.
Without bitterness, without prejudice.
With false hesitation
and secret abandoning of my soul.
I love you with benevolence,
Transcendence, incandescence
emitting from the heart.
That never darkens, only deepens
every time you urge me away
or lift me off my feet...
I ask solemnly,
Do you fear it? My passion?
Is it too fierce, too yearning
for your liking? Will you flee?
You may leave me all you wish,
but you will never leave my heart
because you have instilled into it
your words, your lasting memory.
And so be it so says my soul...
I will love you and I will die
of love because...I love you.
