What we don't say

by Ontherunsearching   Aug 28, 2008

Reading a book, not one word reaches comprehension
While closing the curtains, I feel the tension
Can't find the words, internal confusion of thought
What is it that this life has brought

I would give anything to be the safe haven to which you ran
Instead my mind torments itself on how your pain began
Psychically present, a faraway look stares through the wall
You can't see me, all that remains is to wait for your call

A stranger to yourself, no strength to proceed
Instead of you only 8 people bleed
A lifetime of anger pressed in 6 months time
Guilty turned into innocence and good became a crime

Irretrievability and prosperity under one roof
Blood spills when confronted by all available proof
A black crow shrieks right across your soul
Scars multiply with every word until I feel whole

Wrong kissed right goodbye and took off on his own
A new morning rose and everyone is left alone
Life will take us wherever the river streams
Turn left or right, leaving a trail of unpursued dreams

Every day starts with more questions to come along
Faith changes as disappointment is holding on
Selfishness grows, hell waits, alternation of fire
Suggestion of second chances, I'm offering this life for hire
