About me

by Sweetdream   Aug 29, 2008

I began like any other,
Born of woman and man,
Starting my life,
To meander until my end,
Who I am is every experience I have ever known, so;
I am butterscotch candies in the candy bowl,
I am summer road trips that never seemed to end,
I am orange dream-sickles dripping down my chin,
I am floral-print summer dresses with matching shoes,
I am mud pies and insects covering my clothes,
I am big bike crashes and skinned knees,
I am jumping into the biggest pile of leaves,
I am big family parties with the family to match,
I am the hundred older cousins I had watch,
I am all the little rainbow-trout I got to catch,
I am picking fights and getting grounded into the ground,
I am dark starry nights and quietly sneaking out,
I am mischievous exploits and being dragged home by cops,
I am never being too old to play on the grass with our dogs,
I am so much long hair the sink is almost always clogged,
I am a love of thunderstorms and thick heavy fog,
I am beautiful Colorado snow landing on my nose,
I am everything I have and will come to know.

This is fantastic! This is a really uplifting and strong poem that's very grandiose without ever being pompous. What makes it special is I think lots of people here have a poem like this in them, but will never write it because they'd rather wallow in gloom. This is a P&Q.com summer anthem!
