Masks

Crying on the outside
dying in my heart
pulling on a mask to hide
praying you see past me

Hurtful words drip from your lips
shutting out the rays of love
Tears fall, my heart rips
lost on this battle front alone

Losing all my self esteem
missing my whole world
praying its only a dream
Knowing I ccouldn't hold on

My heart betrays me
so I sink below the waves
kicking and trying to break free
but finally giving to death

No more life to live
I lost you to the darkness
No more of myself to give
You've taken my only heart with you
