Was lying in bed, trying to sleep,
When suddenly I heard my cellphone beep,
Reaching for it, sleepy and slow,
A text from you said: "Look out your window."
I opened it quickly and peered outside,
Clad in your blue jeans and sweater, white,
"It's freezing out here!" you spoke silently,
"I couldn't sleep 'cause I need you with me."
"You out of your mind? What are you doing?
Do you realize that it's 2 in the morning?"
"I just miss you, that's all," you said and shrugged,
"Now come on down, baby, and give me a hug."
Resisting your charm was just impossible,
For the feeling of longing was too incredible,
"I miss you too," wind brushing my skin,
"You wait right there." I said, giving in.
Quietly I tip-toed my way through
the whole house just to be with you,
Outside, the wind was like blades of ice,
I knew I'm never doing this twice.
"Hey there, stranger," you whispered sweetly,
"Now give me the hug that you promised me."
I laughed like a child, feeling all warm,
As I helplessly fell into your arms.
