To be

by Abena   Sep 2, 2008

To be in love with freedom is to call yourself a stranger to this earth
For a bird is never out of its cage for an age

To be drawn to love is to be in a fairytale where only red roses fall yet such contains poison that could cripple ones soul

To be refined in hope is to give yourself a chance of the unexpected yet to be ready to fall at the opening of a hatchet

To be indulged in your lover’s words is to lay yourself bare for passion or absorb words that hiss like snakes

To be anxious about age is to deny moving time
For old age is nothing bout rusting time turned reality

To be reading this poem is like a coincidence for I know I wouldnt have read it. I like the flow and metaphors, your poem it's open for different interpretations and I like the title.
