Failure

by StandStill   Sep 2, 2008

I think I'll define for you failure,
such a simple little word.
And everywhere it's tossed about,
yet hardly is it heard.

My God, I am a failure..
Ne'er good enough for anyone.
It seems just so inferior
to play the role of Prodigal Son.

Oh, did you know, my darling,
that I'm writing you a thousand sounds?
A story's just a bunch of words,
especially when you're not around.

God knows that I am trying,
they say that's the only way to succeed.
Then why, oh why, my darling dear...
do I feel such burning need?
