The Love that Was

by Wallace   Sep 3, 2008

Fainted roses scattered atop broken porcelain
Litters of letters slumped and thrown in painful agony
Sweet memories fade into lost belongings
All past forgotten, and left to be

The dreams of love now escaping free
Tears of woe succumbing to the uttermost plea
Tainted pictures of love now rendering ill
No hopes of virtue remain present still

Like a flame dying in the obscure darkness
The remnants of love is but molten care
A weakening bond of trust and unity shared
No longer holds, what it used to bear

Scars of pain show a bleeding heart
A twisted truth now falling apart
Vows and promises all broken again
The love that was, now tainted in vain

    Argh! No comments?? Why!!

"Like a flame dying in the obscure darkness
The remnants of love is but molten care
A weakening bond of trust and unity shared
No longer holds, what it used to bear"

That stanza says it all for me. The wording and the flow is spot on!

    Amazing work!
