I Am Here (First Version)

by Prince Jared   Sep 3, 2008

Running to escape everything
I start towards the wrong way
The paths twist and turn
And my eyes get clouded over

I lock myself inside my closet
Trying to shut out the voices
Everyone points their fingers
And my tears make a river

Sitting with my back to my wall
My hands clasp at the nothingness
Hopeless, defenseless, and alone
There's nobody here to hear

But suddenly, I discover you
In your own closet of fear
I can hear your plea for help
And I get up to find you

I swing open wide your door
And I sit down by your side
With my back against your wall
I clasp your hands in mine tightly

I envisioned me and you in this poem and how we've helped each other through so much.
