House of Horrors

by StandStill   Sep 3, 2008

Welcome to the little house of horrors,
please do take a seat.
What we show you will amaze you.
You'll see what I mean.

Look into the mirror,
look deep into your eyes.
Can you see the terror?
Do you feel surprised?

Now darling, don't stray from the group.
Peer pressure is the in.
Just give a little sideways,
and the fun, it can begin.

To the left, you'll see the bleeding;
pictures of scarred and bloody wrists.
To the right, you'll see the lovers,
left after their last kiss.

Everywhere you're looking,
you can smell the drugs and alcohol.
Simple solutions for the problems
that we pick up at school.

Party late and cry to sleep,
running on empty is how it goes.
The hallway twists forward and to the left,
but where it goes, no one knows.

Now take a step straight forward,
close your eyes and just let go.
If you walk into personal hell,
we'll be sure to let you know.

Welcome to the little house of horrors,
some call it day to day.
Welcome to the house of horrors,
oh, reader, won't you play?

    To the left, you'll see the bleeding;

--so true, i saw that today in class
To the right, you'll see the lovers,
    left after their last kiss.
    --soo stupidly true

you can smell the drugs and alcohol.
    Simple solutions for the problems
-simple and tempting but they leave extreme guilt

like the darkness of this poem and how you ended in a question
