One day, our whole world did change
How strange the twin towers now look
People terrified, screaming and running
Not knowing what to do in their fear
While everyone else stands in shock
Acrid fumes mixed with the dust and smoke
Then we all saw a plane hit the southern tower
Only now did we know this was no accident
With that terrifying roar the tower collapsed
People ran in all directions just to feel safe
We all knew there was nothing to be done
Phone calls to loved one, precious last words
Heart rending tears, wept by innocent victims
Bodies jumping, falling wanting a quick end
People crying at the horror before their eyes
So many hearts torn asunder that cruel day
Confusion and disbelief showing in their eyes
So many of our selfless heroes died that day
Valiantly the north tower defied the shock
Yet eventually it too slowly succumbed and fell
Taking the lives of fire fighters and policemen
When it went down, it shook the whole ground
Will we ever understand the real cost we paid?
There are many questions still left unanswered
That savage day that hell let loose its demons
We may be able to count the cost in lost lives
The value of concrete, steel and other materials
We will never know the cost of tears and anguish
Or how many happy lives have been destroyed
What answers can we whisper to those sad ghosts
The day that dust and concrete rained from above
What answer can we offer to those bitter survivors
The day bodies fell and jumped from the windows
Thanks to riki he helped me write this again. But this is dedicated to all the people out there that was a survivor or just someone they lost....well ya...im sorry. My Uncle was one of them =[
