The Wait

by Aliah   Sep 4, 2008

Secretly longing for you
Obviously I don't exist in your eyes
Painfully I stick around
Waiting like an innocent child
Days pass, you wander into the arms of another
Heart squeezes, words begin to stutter
Flames burn the pages once filled with passion
Still, the heart speaks unspeakable truths
You walk pass and my heart will beat faster
I'm always a daze when you start to utter
How can I deny the fact that I love you
This feeling overwhelming as it engulfs me
This silent wait I believe worth waiting
My emotions for you are never changing
This stubborn heart still longs for you
Though the mind denies that it's true
Hungry for your love I've become frail and weak
This tired mission might have reached its peak
Yet I still can't give you up
For you are the love that I seek.

    Good work.

    a small tip:
if you put in a few white lines, it will greatly improve the look of your poems.
