One Thing

by Ignoris   Sep 4, 2008

So lay me down to sleep tonight
And watch the night glaze over light
The moon, a light, up overhead
The ending of the day that bled

I watch it now, I watched it then
Wishing I could just pretend
But if it's just not meant to be
I'll lie here still and wait to see

But even now the moon still shines
It's always there, it's always mine
One thing no one can take away
It's always here at night to stay

The rising sun may shatter stars
The moon may seem behind steel bars
But if you just look very close
You'll see it blooming like a rose

So lay me down to sleep tonight
Absorb the dark, postpone the light
And watch the moon, don't even blink
For into Hell you'll slowly sink
