A Voice

by XBrokenxDreamsX   Sep 5, 2008

Every cursing word and broken sentence
slashes the fragile remenants of my shattered heart.

Ripping and tearing and relishing in my pain
you smile down at my broken form,
pleased with what's become of me.

Your haunting eyes scan the lines of my face
now twisted and distorted in a pain-filled grimace.

You stare with an open expression
of dissapointment and disgust
as you turn on your heel to go.

Still in too much pain to speak
I moan something close to your name.

You hear me but do not turn
knowing that your silence burns
like fire through my veins.

As I fall to my knees, too weak to stand
the empty hallway echoes a voice saying...

"Don't ever call me your mother again."
