I had to read this poem three times to follow its flow and to understand its depth. On the third reading it seemed to fall into place and you hooked me, a really good poem full of emotion and I too would love to dance in the stars perhaps one day I may, Ray S I gave you a 5/5

I do, and always will believe that you could lull me into a stupor with your words. A good stupor. You're my favorite. :)

A great first line which drew me in
A closeness I should never have allowed --- I immediately think you have made yourself vulnerable, or its forbidden love?
The air itself was heavy and dripping with dew ---The air dripping with emotion
curled clouds around our feet, and we were wrapped in mist ---- drawn together, no one else matters, oblivious to others

    -but there was brightness above,
a pulsing so sweet and sharp-
and as we bowed to each other on
    our star-scattered, fog-woven stage,
I felt the shyness slip like silk off my shoulders
as they curved in a curtsey towards the ground

    Two beautifully worded lines here
"I felt the shyness slip like silk off my shoulders
as they curved in a curtsey towards the ground" - Inhibitions disappear as the stars bow to such a beautiful spectacle, you both alone in the universe as the stars shone upon you alone
This theme is built upon in the next three stanzas, I love the line "straight into my belly" which brings a certain realism and guts (mind the pun, its not intentional) to the piece for me.

    "and there was beauty,
    beauty, and nothing but"

"And nothing but" creates a powerful ending

A beautiful piece recounting an almost out of body experience be it true or not. do i think you achieved what you set out to yes 100%

I thoroughly enjoyed this poem. I loved how you took something as simple as a dance and turned it into a moment shared by two people who love each other, a moment to be treasured and remembered forever. I was fortunate enough to live this poem once. I had almost forgotten about it, but this poem reminded me just how special that night was.

I'll be adding this to my favorite poems list as well as the author. ;)

Great Job! 10/5 (If it were possible. lol )

That was a beautiful piece, it was original, my favourite line was:
'a step, a twist, feet following the lines of constellations;'

as i was reading it i was just imagining the events and it was lovely!

    You wrote:
"It's such an intimate feeling, having someone read your poems.."
Dear One...It is such an intimate feeling, reading
    This poem..

    *This poem is **galactically** intimate
both in imagery* and, in intimate reveal....*

    and then......how to resolve....
"a closeness I should never have allowed."
    with:
    "and there was beauty,
    beauty, and nothing but."

ah, we poor readers, we dreamers, we poets..
what is apparent contradiction to us
    but another illusion
to be greeted with a loving smile
    and gratitude...

    Oh, and then there's:

"I felt the shyness slip like silk off my shoulders
as they curved in a curtsey towards the ground"

    plus, yes....the stars do,
    indeed,
    sing..
and your delivery of that fact is
    exquisite...

Did I mention I love this poem??!
