Acceptance

by Erin   Sep 6, 2008

I stopped and thought to myself;
What kind of life do I lead?
Will my journey be successful
if I choose to follow my creed?

Answers seem so scarce now,
I fear what is to come.
I wish I could know my destination
The same as where I came from.

I became so accustomed to life
The way it was before,
but now the future is the present
and I yearn for the past even more.

Aware that things will never be the same,
I try to adapt to change.
Every day is different from the last
and the new seems very strange.

I know not where I am going,
Or whether I've chosen the right direction,
but I know that one thing is for sure;
I shall never accomplish perfection.

    This poem was perfect from beginning to end. How long have you been writing?

    I love it! 5/5 definitely.
