Misconceptions

by Arun Khan   Sep 6, 2008

Misconceptions lead us astray
things are no what they seem
begging for someone to stay
our dominance so supreme

listening to past stories retold
hoping to recognize feelings so old
and nothing is conceived in a bed so torn
forever to deceive when doubt is born

all the while we stumble in rage
blood soaked fingers relieved
writing our sins on every page
We'll be forsaking what we believe

Not to say sin and love in the same breath
as we cry alone for comforting caresses
escaping holy water and drinking to morality's death
pitying the lover so obsessive

courage became our pride
and for that we were cursed
nonetheless we chose to hide
as our oblivion, us nursed

A never ending story written in tears
A land so holy containing our fears
and we took the hand offered us kindly
now forever to regret our faithful helper so blindly.

An excellent write. No doubt your talent is truly applaudable for in every sense you are able to convey your feelings and even capture the hearts and minds of every individual that reads your work.

This poem reminds me about my break and the song "Fairytale gone bad".

When relationship breaks...there is always a lot of emotions in the air and it is easy to hurt someone... But finally...after getting over this....there is a happy life and new love..
