Crumbling Aspirations

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   Sep 7, 2008

My entire world is ending
and I'm watching its skies fall.
I'll hold on as long as I can
though the end is hard to stall.

Heart fragments fly everywhere
from the deafening explosion.
The earth below is crumbling
from this unnatural erosion.

As the sun blackens out
I ignore the end's face.
Though my world is dying,
it's hard to leave this place.

So let go of my hand
because here I don't belong.
I have to leave eventually
and you can't come along.

It's always interesting to see what one can come up with when they write from their heart completely. but, I really loved reading something written from your heart. it was truly heartfelt, so sad, but yet.. you managed to pull it off very well. the vocabulary was outstanding. "heart fragments flying everywhere" in the second stanza i believe, really captured my attention. the word choice was flawless in this piece and added to the piece a lot actually. you did a wonderful job. sad poem, but nonetheless a very good write. 5/5. (:
