She walks lost inside a dark forest,
She tries to see, but she is blind.
She stumbles onto branches and leaves,
Looking for something she can't find.
A void of emptiness fills her body,
And inside the deep beats a broken heart.
She wanders into trees and stones,
And the bruises and blood is tearing her apart.
Thoughts no one understand comes to mind,
She opens her eyes to try and see.
"Why am I alone in this dark abyss?
Why won't anyone come to rescue me?"
She takes another step forward on the road,
Behind her, she can hear the darkness calls.
"Leave me alone!" she screams and starts to run,
She hits a stone, and her body falls.
The filthy and dirty ground hits her face,
She touches it and feels the blood.
Who cursed her with these blind eyes?
Those who now are covered in mud.
She turns around, rising slowly,
She sits with her back against a tree.
She feels the cold coming closer, asking again:
"Why won't anyone rescue me?"
She rises her hands to clear her face,
And removes the dirt from the eyes who hasn't cried for years.
She swallows her pride, let's go of perfection,
And she faces her darkness, faces her fears.
She can feel the cold start to roam around her body,
And she screams for help for the last time.
She doesn't understand what she ever did wrong,
Seeing the real world shouldn't be a crime.
She catches her breath as the darkness comes,
And binds her to an unwanted and lonely existence.
For the first time in years, she faces the sadness,
The feelings she had tasted from a certain distance.
The tears well up in her eyes, those who couldn't see,
And they clear her eyes from the mud.
She opens them softly, and sees a forest,
Trees bleeding the coldest blood.
The darkness holds on tighter,
She looks around just to see.
She asks the cold, shaking her head,
"Why did you have to choose me?"
"Why am I doomed to the worst of the worst,
Why do I have to see like no one does?"
It answers softly; "Because you're special,
You're not like them, you never was."
