Beautiful soul

by Ingrid   Sep 8, 2008

A sudden surprise
as I see your words
An old post, left behind
and I miss you so
More than you will ever know
Like a thunderstorm you came and went
and all you brought with you was heaven sent
Beautiful soul, all that stems from you is good
A single tear trickles down my cheek
as my mind wanders back to you
Knowing you are still there
but wrapped up in life and it's many tribulations
trying ever so hard to just hang on

I miss you, Bear

Dedicated to my dear friend and soul mate Gregory A. Young. Shortly after we became friends, it became nearly impossible for him to be an active participant on my other home New Horizons, due to personal problems.
In him I found a kindred spirit, like no other I ever met before. I miss his poems, which he posted as Socratesbigtoe, very much.

In many ways as i read this i thought of a friendship of mine that was lost.

Thru the narrow minds of society and people who could not understand that a man and woman can be friends without going further, I lost my best friend to the pressure. I see her in places, pass her on the road, yet i cannot have her in my life as a friend. Oh, we speak and say hi but thats about it. I see the hurt in her eyes as well. I still have emails from her that i cannot part with. Nothing special, just conversations about our lives and stuff . So many of my poems are about this situation. In fact that why i started writing.

    great writing !!

    Ingrid,

this is a lovely tribute to what is obviously a very special friend indeed. Your words have described in such a way that I too now feel a loss. He too will undoubtedly feel the same loss for being apart from you.

Well done and hugs for you. :)
