Gloomy Seed

by Sweetdream   Sep 10, 2008

You're incredibly good at making me feel bad,
Like a friend who's eager to knife me in the back,
Once upon a time I opened up my heart to you,
Gave you my trust and an exclusive inside view,
I believed you could protect my heart from despair,
Little did I know you'd reach in and put more there,
You've been nurturing a seed of misery as it grows,
Spreading restrictive vines that chock my hearts flow,
My cheerful heart is no longer what it appears to be,
Ever since the day you planted that little gloomy seed,
You crush my optimism with your scornful approach,
Instead of with hope you take every step with reproach,
Constantly criticizing but only when I'm in the wrong,
All my good is like dust in the wind, it's instantly gone,
In your world you rule over the inhabitants with contempt,
You treated me like an occupant and planted a seed resent.
