Fire and Ice

by FaithHopeNLove   Sep 10, 2008

Darkness races, swirls in
engulfs the soul in chagrin
dreams rendered useless here
shroud in only doubt in fear.
Falling hard and fast
a melody in high contrast
each drop hits and splatters
as every hope breaks and shatters.
Love and honor pay the price
frozen over cold as ice.

Dawn shows bright and clear
as night time shadows disappear
Light bounces up and down
as rainbows fall all around.
Rising swiftly over head
warming waves and brilliant rays
wash away the maddening dread
and erase the tint of a crippling haze.
A surge of longing and desire
entices rage, hot like fire.

Never is there any calm
as inside, the storm drives on.
Patient and biding, silent and unheard
a thought to no one has occurred.
The battle strives on forever
between the heart and mind
all ties are struck, destroyed, and severed
as fire and ice are always intertwined.
