Release

by Dwite Fry   Sep 11, 2008

The reason we're not attention seeking?
We don't want to show what we've done
We don't feel the need to tell anyone
About the scratches on our belly
The scabs on our arms
Because why'd we want people to know
We're a freak who self harms
Because they never see how beautiful
The people underneath are
They only see scars

I don't think anyone has any illusions
That this is the best of solutions

Release, release
Why else beat yourself senseless
Release, release
Why else cut yourself relentless
Release, release, release, release
I wish I could find a better way...
But until then

If someone's so sad, so frustrated
That this is how far they'll go
Wouldn't being cruel make the more so?
There's scratches on our belly
And scars on our thigh
We could turn to drugs I suppose
But not all of us want to die
Because they never see how beautiful
The people underneath are
They only see scars

I don't think anyone has any illusions
That this is the best of solutions

Release, release
Why else beat yourself senseless
Release, release
Why else cut yourself relentless
Release, release, release, release
I'm trying to find a better way...
But until then

Release, release, release, release....

I actually dont' have an appendix for this, only to say this is for me, you and everyone who agrees with this.

I also think I might be calling this Release (Seeing Scars) instead of just plain ol' Release...hmmm...
