My Life With Me

by Twisted Heart   Sep 11, 2008

Upon streets of dark decay
I walk among crowds
Lonely heart that lives inside
Before thee, I bow
Not one to hold my trust in height
Nor see the depths of pain
I, lonely one, will walk alone
Not mindful of the rain.

Too many dreams lie in wait
Somehow they fall aside
With duties that behold my days
Within them surely hide
Each hope that fills my heart
Up to the final breath
That be the faith to sustain
My lagacy in death

It's funny how we can be in a crowd and still be alone! So many things we just can't seem to get to , like our own dreams sometimes. Excellent ,as all of your work is!

I have missed your poetry for too long. It is great to see you writing again.
This poem as all of yours do....makes you stop to think and question what have you done in your lifetime to be remembered in a better light. What will they say when the eulogy is read and when it is all said and done...... Have we done everything we could to live to our potential. You have that wonderful ability to transfer fears, thoughts, hopes and dreams and weave them into a beautifully penned poem. Wonderful Day.
