Defeat of evil (Nonet)

by Ingrid   Sep 11, 2008

Vultures circling, ready to descend
The midnight hour is close at hand
Rope and scaffold all in place
Ready to die with grace?
Eager witnesses
wait in vain for
evil will
lose this
time

    Ingrid,

I am so pleased you have decided to write in this form. It is a new favourite of mine. I love the challenge of syllabells per line and I can see you have rhymed as well, so doubly difficult.

Dark poetry always seems to have a rich depth about it, and here in your Nonet, the rich depth of pending death is evident.
You may want to check the 2nd line down, for syllabell count, I think I counted 7. You could rectify this by simply addint The at the beginning :)

    A great Nonet, well done.
