ALCOHOL

by jLegendc   Sep 12, 2008

The night was still young,
Alcohol has drenched my tongue,
Quenching my thirst from unrequited love,
Heavily intoxicated yet never dare to stop...

Mind is twisting around,
Walking zombie-like and fell to the ground,
Vision started to have a blurry sight,
How can I survive this darkest night?

A sudden urge to urinate as I walk down the road,
Tried to find a place to unload,
I found this gigantic tree and behind it there's some writing,
It's a message that got me reading...

"Rejection is nothing but an acceptance,
Confession is risking your chance,
Being afraid will just give you regrets,
Because that hidden feeling is the one thing
you can never forget...."

My mind suddenly cleared out,
The message erased all my doubts,
To be rejected or not to be? that is the question,
I wanna take the risk to show my undying affection!

Thoughts rushed inside my mind,
Things I wanna say, I was trying to find,
Should I just say directly that I'm in love with her?
Overflowing feelings & mixed words still left me to wonder...

When I arrived in front of their house,
I began to get scared like a mouse,
But since I was still feeling a little tipsy,
Alcohol substituted me subsconsciously...

I called her name out loud,
And then a drop of rain came from the dark clouds,
Rain started pouring hard all around,
I yelled everything I wanted to say though she couldn't
probably hear a sound...

Their door opened and she got out with an umbrella,
Her worried face made me feel good,
Even though I was still devoured with the tequila,
I stood there and had trouble to move...

Alcohol couldn't even compare to what I feel for her,
Just the sight of her made my mind clear,
She came near me and sheltered me with the umbrella,
My body got numb as if I got a shot of anaesthesia...

She embraced me and whispered to me that she heard everything,
I was still in a state of shock as she told me her feelings,
She looked at my reaction and laughed softly,
Tears of joy fell uncontrollably...

Words couldn't be spoken,
Finally, our hearts were open,
A kiss ended the moment as words became superfluous,
A never-ending kiss and continuous...

Dutch courage, huh? I know, I've been there too. I liked how in the end you won the girl and she felt the same as you. I hope it is a true story for you. You expressed what you were feeling very clearly. Good Job.
