My Dearest Friend

by Cody   Sep 12, 2008

Lost and forgotten in this flowing tide
You keep slipping away time after time
My dear and eternal friend
My love for you can never end

Not a day goes by that I don't see you in my head
night after night I remember everything you have said
You have take a piece of my heart and of my soul
and neither of those parts may ever grow cold

Over and over again we blame circumstances
We are so afraid to take our chances
We both have been hurt so much
We cannot find away to fully trust

So we shall remain the dearest of friends
Now and forever awaiting the end
Perhaps the day will come when more can bloom
and I must wait, hoping against hope that that day may come soon

    HI.
I enjoyed your poem, and yes relationships do not always go as we sometimes hope they might.
Second stanza third line the word take should be taken, it spoils the line as it is.
Otherwise your poem was quite good though you might want to try and get a more even syllable count from line to line.
    Well done good poem
