Sand

by Ignoris   Sep 12, 2008

I'm lying on the ground
Unwilling just to stand
Feels like my chest is caving in
Like a footprint left in sand

An indent left inside
So deep you cannot see
Me, I'm not some shifting sands
Though I often wish to be

Why are you still crushing me?
I just want to simply stand
I'll even flatten by myself
Don't even need your hand

So I'm just looking at the sky
The sky, endless and grand
But it feels like my chest is caving in
As if a footprint left in sand

Great metaphor, great flow. Good job on sticking with the theme and tying everything together. You romanticized this to just the right extent. I love it : )
