Little girl,
Why oh why do you cry?
Do you know that you're breaking my heart?
Why don't you smile,
For just awhile?
You really do tear me apart.
Oh precious girl,
Your cheeks are flushed,
And tears now fun down your face.
I wish to see,
That smile I love,
That no one cold ever replace.
Oh baby girl,
So sweet,
So frail.
I'll hold you until the tears stop.
I love you so,
And I know you know,
So stop crying, let not another tear drop.
Oh sweet baby,
How you are hurting me.
I just wish to see you smile.
You've saved me,
With just that thing,
So smile for just awhile.
Oh lovely girl,
So beautiful.
You brighten my days always,
I wish to do,
The same for you,
So stop those impertinent tears.
Oh love,
My sweet.
I have watched you weep,
For long enough, this is true.
But I love you so,
As you now know,
So I'll let you cry all you need to.
Oh little girl,
Why oh why do you cry?
Do you know you are breaking my heart?
I'll comfort you,
Until you're through,
And then you and I will both smile.
*This is a poem I wrote for my best friend, Darlene. It really breaks my heart when she's crying or frowning. I'd give anything to see a permanent smile on her face.
