My Burden mother

by Jenn   Sep 13, 2008

Here we are, face to face,
Another day, another war.
Home may be where the heart is,
But neither of us are going to win.

For you are the one who brings in darkness,
And I am the rebellious child.
You say one thing, I Do another,
Why do we even bother?

Like mother like daughter,
Yet I'm nothing like her...
She failed out of life, first try,
And I'm just learning how to fly.

But she broke my wings to keep me close,
I just run, but she broke my legs.
Under her roof, living by her rules,
She's turning me into her little fool.

And So tonight Is the night I shall run.
Run into the sun without turning back.
For this life is young and mine for taking,
But it's my spirit that she is breaking.

Once my friend, now just a mother,
One Day I will show her-
This burden I must Carry..
This world holds no mercy.
