Hypothetical Dances (best friends and summer nights)

by StandStill   Sep 13, 2008

This night, it smells like summer,
winter's eve seems far away.
Colours hold their vibrance,
lovely dreams for lovely days.

The music's singing sweetly,
you can hear this simple song.
Never one for music,
but poems can't go wrong.

September moves like molasses,
cars whiz past on the road.
The lights make perfect colours,
singing songs we'll always know.

We can add in the other wonders,
our gems and jewels and such.
God knows the more the merrier...
flying dance, no feet to touch.

The trees sway in the breeze to tempo,
rhythmic, perfect beat.
We're moving to an unheard song,
summer sings so sweet.

Let's dance a little slower,
breathe in this fresh air.
Watch the stars all wheel above us,
you and I, just there.

We're gonna twirl just right, dearest,
to this hypothetical tune.
Can you hear it, dear one?
Dancing hypothetically, just friends beneath this moon.
