Reflection

by NineteenMinutes   Sep 13, 2008

I'm glad my pain amuses you,
do you enjoy laughing away my grief,
i smile back into your bitterness,
i smile through broken teeth,
why are you still laughing,
cant you see me cry,
i bet you wouldn't be laughing,
if you fell from your high,
tell me what makes you better,
is it something i do?
you just keep on laughing,
but i am really you,
now I've stopped you laughing,
now there's no joke,
we both stand there in silence,
we've seen behind the smoke,
now it's me who's laughing,
my reflection's the one in pain,
it stands there in self pity,
but i guess we're just the same.
