Middle of war

by Joseph   Sep 13, 2008

In middle of war
I visit my friend
he is dying
in a hospital bed

I go out
to fight some more
to inflict some pain
to release my hate

I see her
crouching on the street
Her face is swollen
she has been beat

I go to help
fighting still
I hear her weep
My heart leaps

Blood rushing down
Her beauty stands out
She's so far
I start to trout

I get to her
Tell her not to worry
I'll get her out
She only says hurry

I take a hold of her
I hear bullets going my way
We duck, and barely escape death
then we get the spray

I pull her into the shed
then light hits my face
I remember the bullets
I realize our disgrace

We hold each other
Mostly in fear
praying for hope
She lets a silent tear

We know it's time
to be brave
to realize this place
will be our grave

I am a bolivian, my country is in the start of a civil war at the moment. This is how many people are suffering.

I apologize if my english is bad, it is after all my second language
