I don't love you. (I swear I'm not lying)

by Lesslovedthanloathed   Sep 15, 2008

If you were to call me a rose
I'd say "With a million thorns."
If you were to say I was an angel
I'd say "You're crazy, I'm still alive."
And then I'd walk right out of your life.

I refuse to be tied.
What use are your lies
If I refuse to be tied.
Your web you weave
Won't make a fool of me.

You'd call me day
You'd call me night
And still I won't be tied
You'd buy me flowers
And send them 'with love'

But I won't be made a fool
I know how you work
Sugar-coated words
To coax me into love
You're just running in circles

Eyes like the stars you'd say
"Just who do you think you are"
I'd say.
But... I'm just lying to myself
When I say I hate your company

Yet I vowed not to fall in love
How could I be so fickle
To change myself in a heartbeat
But it seems so real
Is this how love is meant to feel?

I'd give in just to see you smile
How did I never notice before
You've always stayed by my side
When these feeling inside me
Begin to stir so violently

I don't think I love you.
I don't love you at all.
I don't love you.
(I swear I'm not lying).

Very good poem! I liked the beginning when he was sweet talking but she refused to hear it and had a comeback for everything. Nice.
