How do you mean it?

by Gabba Gabba Hey   Sep 15, 2008

I love you.
So overused and common...can't we be more creative?

I love you.
Shh...stop pushing this on me

I love you
Do I have to say it back? What do I do?

I love you
Stop lying to me. Stop making me lie to you.

I love you
Men who beat their wives say that. Rapists say that. Desperate people say that.

I love you
Tender words on tender lips, both received in the heart...do I let passion or caution take me?

I love you.
You've said it so many times it lost its meaning.

I love you
useless love songs. The same over played cliches. It's useless. Or am I just jealous?

I love you.
Every time I hear that I think of how love wanes. When does it wax?

I love you.
What a flimsy, baseless statement.

I love you
heart pounding...mind focused on one word, her name

I love you.
How long will it last?

I love you!
It's only a mix of chemical reactions. It's not a big deal.

I love you.
EVERYONE SAYS THAT. Even I said it.

I love you.
These words no longer touch my heart. I grow wary of them.

I love you
We've been taught to covet these words. But they say so little. I want, no, need more.

I love you.
but will you forget me in the morning?

I love you
what a paralyzing sentence. Forgive my hesitation.

I love you
but I will never forgive you

I love you
love is supposed to surpass everything. It does not penetrate as thoroughly as hate.

I love you.
Meaningless. Toys for a child.

I love you!
A mother welcoming her child into the world

I love you
The bright sun is seated on a fading horizon, but it will never set

I love you.
Useless romanticism

I love you
No, you don't. That won't get you out of this.

I love you.
The lights turn off in an old mans eyes.

I love you
the last words and thoughts of people in the Twin Towers.

I love you...
tears staining a lovers flushed cheeks

I love you!
A trap? or freedom?

I love you
both the dirge and welcoming words of youth

I love you
He said like a used car salesmen trying to make his quota

I love YOU
Do you mean it? How many others have you said that to?

I love you
there is no more meaning in these words. They are barren mothers of deformed children.

I love you.
The words the suicide of freedom.

I love you?
accidental truths pouring from a tired mind

I love you
closes as many doors as it opens.

I love you
I've heard that a thousand times. What makes you different?

I love you
then smile and move along.

I love you
those words are nothing more than a guilt trip.

I love you.
I know you do.

Surprising poem this:) i mean that in a good way. it's one of those poems that everyone has hidden inside themselves somewhere but only a few can acctually break it down and put it out there. you dear, possess that skill!

just some that you could get rid of, some because they are slightly out of theme, others because they are alike others that are already there

Another tip : I would order them more from the mad kind of ones( like the one about a guilt trip ) together in the middle. the ones about how it doesn't mean much at the beginning and the romantic ones at the end, just so its not so all over the place :)If I get a chance I'll see if I can do it to show you what I mean and see what you think of it.

    * Again, all just in my opinion, its still a great poem and I understand if you don't want to take any of my advice bacause there isn't any reason why I know better than you. I am only attempting to help because I know it helps me to have a different pair of eyes look at my poems and give me advice :)

    again great poem :)

Very good, I really liked "I love you

    I love you.

But I think it would be a good idea to get rid of some of the ones that don't mean as much to you, and jsut keep the best, because it starts to loose its meaning when it's gone on for so long. great premise, well writen, just dragged on for too long
