This is a song I wrote after hearing about the loss of my friend's mother named Laurie. (Verse 1) We knew her with our hearts We knew her with our souls Yet none of us ever thought She would leave And we’d be apart (Chorus) A mother, a sister A friend, and a wife She was someone Who lived her life right But I know that now She looks down on us Shining so bright In heaven above us (Verse 2) Angels around her She’s happier there A halo above her Bright golden hair Despite all our worries Despite all our tears She is up there And we are down here We cannot change it But we can be sure She won’t be forgotten We can be sure (Chorus) A mother, a sister A friend and a wife She was someone Who lived her life right But I know that now She looks down on us Shining so bright In heaven above us (Verse 3) So I pray to God And hopes he hears My hope and prayer For Miss Laurie up there She will be missed We can be sure I know she can hear this We can be sure
