Cold heart, addled brain

by Grant Gilbert AKA Slash   Sep 19, 2008

Cold heart, addled brain

Oh woe begotten days of old
No sweetest mama's boy was told
So I roamed the empty streets at night
Looking for some troubled sight

Bad deeds are done in misty parks
From the shadowed coolness of my heart
From this spawn, my parents pain
These insane thoughts from addled brain

Like molasses moving slow
I ooze in through, your bedroom window
With steely grip around your throat
I stare into your eyes and gloat

Not quite finding what I seek to do
Just a little glee I found in you
But still I hunger for some more
This mental thirst that I adore

I seek and find your mama's breast
So I snapped her neck and found it best
Your pa did not have too much to say
With gilded dagger through the brain

So nice you looked, in your Sunday best
These lovely mirrors have stood the test
Now you can see what I have found
I'm sure you all must feel so proud

Woe begotten days of old
So much fun, if truth be told
Once more I roam the streets at night
I seek what mama knew was right

Haha This is one haunting poem and it's going into my favorites. I'm not quite sure of what the meaning is though but still it is so powerful. In my eyes when I was reading this poem I sensed a lot of anger but that could just be my point of view. once again you have shocked me I am so happy I came across your poetry. It is truly amazing.

You go from warm and touching to cold and harsh. A versatile man in deed. Another great write a lot on the scary side. I loved it haha.
