Regrets Too Late

by Momentary Relapse   Sep 19, 2008

Sitting hollow and numb to words
She stares blankly at the sunset
A lingering silence descends on hem
A limp hand resting on gray coverlet

Pacing the silent halls in fear
He stares angrily at her room
A longing prayer escapes his lips
"God, please, spare her this doom"

Her mother sits still at her side
Whispering promises to her ear
Reminding her to fight and live
Though knowing her time is near

Punching another wall in rage
He screams obscenities full of hate
Cursing the world and her as well
Falling apart when he knows too late

~This needs a better title...~
