A Conscious State of Mind Leaving

by Curing the Comon Cliche   Sep 20, 2008

The afternoons like this move slow
Screaming to the love songs on the radio
Slipping in and out of everything
A conscious state of mind leaving

Black clouds hang behind closed eyes
Like back suits when someone dies
A slip of pain when I breathe in
A conscious state of mind leaving

A pounding feeling in my head
The feeling one gets when the butterflies are dead
The screaming is gone and the voices are dim
A conscious state of mind leaving

Not what I meant by butterflies, but it's definitely good. The first stanza really makes me think of my days...it's just the radio and songs remind me of life, day to day. and then how we slip in and out of that reality, which can be a positive or a negative thing...
