Christmas in September

by StandStill   Sep 21, 2008

Christmas in September,
welcome to the dream.
Nothing here is broken,
all is as it seems.

Fire crackles in the background,
carols streaming in the air.
Pretty white walls on all the sides,
Christmas tree next to the stair.

Oddball ornaments drip down,
hanging heavy on the green.
Pine smell rubbed upon your fingers,
perfect, lovely dream.

Cookies baking in the kitchen,
mistletoe kisses here or there.
Watch and laugh at the romance,
warmth and love upon the air.

Grin breaks upon the faces,
family lit up near the fireplace.
Welcome to tomorrow's dream,
momentary suspension in both time and space.

Christmas in September,
perfect present, this sweet dream...
Fire crackles in the background,
the snow falls bright and clean.
