Distraction of Attraction

by Blueleo   Sep 21, 2008

You came to my life out of thin air
Not even noticing my longing stair
From afar, your beauty is enchanting
Up close, words come out scattering

Although your love is a sinful shame
My heart can not ignore your flame
It can not be, this feeling that comes
Strangely, my heart easily succumbs

A thousand and one things to ponder
Can not be so weak if life is stronger
Yet I know pain is around the corner
I feel its coldness becoming meaner

Time and time again pain was there
Yet my heart never learned to care
It leaps right into your ice cold grip
My brain screaming to stop this trip

Again love becomes my distraction
Fighting it causes a growing reaction
As if being stuck on an assembly line
Waiting for my sanity to slowly grind

Wow your writing is very mature... Good use of words, and has a nice flow to it :) Something most of my poems lack lol
Thanks for your comment on my poem, even though I was just a tad shocked to read "would never leave a man alone, we are not to be trusted. " Lol even though you did say u were kidding... Hmm... I dont take advice from strangers anyway :)
