The Child of the Wind

by Shadow and Flame   Sep 21, 2008

Shadows of the world's own past
Of beauty and of peaceful tranquility
Sing of loss and sorrow, of sacrilege.
Their tears fall down like rain
Rain that burns where it falls.

In the distance
One Song overshadows them all.

Oh young loner! you wail.
Why do you weep?
You are beautiful
And have a whole life to spend.

I weep for my loved ones
All crossed over
Their songs of joy forgotten.

I weep for the loss of the world-
For it lives now in death.

The blossoms of the wild earth
And smells of the purest variety
Have died.
Have been forgotten.
Indeed, they have never been known to you.

And you, child-
I weep for your limitations.
Though your heart is pure and moral
You are dissuaded from action.
You believe that you are powerless to heal
And to fight injustice
Caught as you are in a web of lies
And of decadence.

Thus says I-
The Child of the Wind.

This poem was inspired by the horrible violations to our land that humanity displays to the once wild, free, and beautiful earth. I hope this sheds some light for the people who have or would so thoughtlessly violate the purity of earth, and I hope you like that you enjoyed this poem.

Excellent word choice, you really drew me into this poem, and I love the descriptions you used. Great flow throughout this write, and this one is my favorite by you so far.
