Sitting by the window
looking at the rain
trapped inside my memories
by emptiness and pain

I try to shake the darkness
but it just won't leave my mind
it's holding onto memories
that I can't leave behind

I remember like it was yesterday
when you looked to me for love
but now it seems that my heart
is the last thing you're thinking of

I gave you every bit of me
trying just to please you
our love seemed so simple
it was something I could ease through

But then you went and left me
like you never even cared
leaving behind memories
of all the times we shared

I used to think I needed you
