Hand floating on air out the window
The tree's and the world fly by
The war that they play on the radio
Speaks of sons that are destined to die
^^ First, i thought of the world wars. idk why, but it always seemed to me like that was so much more of a media war, but in reality, today's wars are so much more televised. i liked the second line a lot..it sort of clashes with the bottome two. the freedom and then the opression.
Close your eyes and start drifting away
A half an hour nap in the passenger seat
You think of your angels, your loves, and your friends
Cause without them you know, you'd be dead on some street
^^"And you say, I'm not scared of anything but losing you guys.." whenever i'm stuck in the car with my mom, that's what i do. i think of you guys...
The world can tear you to shreds
But your locked away in a car, safe from it all
Then the monster's mouth closes, and you're underneath
That's when you can feel yourself fall
^^ this stanza made me want to cry. it's just...idk. it was my favourite.
The car drives by the broken trees
Thunder hit a long time ago
They'd have stories to tell, and song they would sing
I guess nobody wants to know
^^ Sometimes you just can't see the people who really and actually want to know...again, i like the contrast between trees, which are sort of free and natural and then the brokeneness, which to me, brings in the rest of the world..
the poem isn't what i thought it'd be, based off of the title and the category...but i really like it nontheless...
