Lily (Metaphor Poem for Contest)

by Gabba Gabba Hey   Sep 23, 2008

She stands there, solitary in a world of couples
blushing a delicate pink
her head bows downwards, but never in sadness
long arms outstretched
bearing comforting, life making hands
a daring sun shines through her eyes
and dark highlights sparkle from her hair like raindrops
she wears a coat of green
and her form flows gracefully to the ground
her rouge skin is the softest man has ever felt
her scent the most intoxicating
her youthfulness the most envied.
She blushes a deeper, almost carmine red
as the day fades into twilight
and eyes close in preparation of rest.

This poem is absolutely beautiful. It seems almost like a fantasy, but it's realistic at the same time. I loved it :)

Damn you're good! I don't know what's gotten in to you but you've grown like a maniac over the months i've known you.
