Don't let them

by Tangible heartache   Sep 23, 2008

Show them you're brave,
And hide all the tiny scars,
Don't let them think your losing,
Just keep wishing upon stars,

Hold your head up high,
And don't let them see you fall,
It's what they'll use against you,
And pin you up onto the wall,

Don't let them see the wet tears,
That falls from your brown eyes,
Lock up all the pain inside,
And push the truth behind the lies,

Don't let them see your poor aching heart,
Don't let them see the terrible pain,
Hide it all behind a perfect mask,
And let go and cry in the rain,

Don't let them see the truth behind the lies,
Just keep it all to yourself and say your okay,
Just keep on living like this person,
Because it's the only safe way.

I really love how you portray the feeling of having to mask all the saddness and grief from someone, who may even be very close, because you do not know what may happen if they find out... will they get angry, will they support you, will they even care?

This is very beautiful, Makalah. I love it.
    You are so talented...
    and it amazes me...
    you're only 12.

    Take care of yourself, sweetheart.

    love you very much.
